Advertising & Being Thin

Advertising emphasises being thin as a standard for female beauty and the bodies idealised in the media are frequently atypical of normal women. Fashion models actually weigh 23% less than the average woman. A woman between 18-34 has a 7% chance of being as slim as a catwalk model and a 1% chance of being as thin as a supermodel. However, one study found that 69% of girls said that magazine models influenced their idea of the perfect body shape, and the pervasive acceptance of this unrealistic body type creates an impractical standard for the majority of women.

we should not go against nature, it is normal for men and women to gain extra few pounds when they a bit older, just keep healthy that is the main thing
