Here's an interesting place to read about the much talked about plant phytoestrogens. They are chemical compounds derived from plants which have a similarity to human estrogens, although are much weaker than that. "Phyto" is taken from Greek and is used as a prefix to describe substances from plants, so these phytoestrogens are therefore plant substances which have estrogen-like properties.
